It is so easy for leather furniture to stain but there is a great way to protect it. Use our Oakwood Leather Conditioning Cream to provide your leather with a protective barrier against common spills, stains and marks associated with every day use. Our cream also replaces any lost moisture from natural ageing.

Absolutely.

Bonded leather is commonly a term used for partially synthetic leather. Oakwood Household products can be used on smooth leather and synthetic surfaces and will clean, condition and protect bonded leather.

Although our leather care products are great to moisturise, soften and repel spillages on your handbag, they don’t seal or waterproof it.

Leather needs to be allowed to breath to remain soft and supple. Products that are too waxy or contain waterproofing agents, sit on the top layer of the leather, preventing it from breathing. Those products also dry out your leather, which may lead to cracking.

The secret to preventing and removing mould growth, is to regularly clean and condition your leather.

Regular maintenance using the Oakwood Complete Care System, will remove existing mould and prevent further growth. Leather also needs to be kept in a well ventilated, moisture-free environment to prevent the growth of mould spores.

For streak free windows and mirrors, white vinegar is your secret weapon

Windows and mirrors can be hard to clean. A simple trick to achieve streak-free shine is to mix white vinegar and water in equal quantities in a spray bottle. Spray your windows and mirrors with the mixture and dry it with crumpled up newspapers.

Nobody likes a dirty microwave with baked on food scraps everywhere. It smells and is not hygienic at all. So what is a natural way to quickly clean your microwave?

To clean your microwave, just put a bowl of water with a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar in there and run it for two minutes. The steam helps loosen gunk and makes wiping out the microwave easier.

If your shower head is a bit blocked up with lime scale try this simple and natural cleaning trick.

Tie a plastic freezer bag filled with vinegar around your shower head and let it sit for a few hours. Remove the bag and then run the shower to remove any residual vinegar. Your shower head will work like brand new!

If the kids have used the wall again as a canvas, don’t dispair! We have a simply trick to remove crayon marks on your walls.

You can remove crayon marks on walls with toothpaste! Make sure it is a non-gel toothpaste, gently dab on a small amount over the crayon marks, rub gently with a soft cloth and then rinse with warm water. Easy!

We all love snuggling with our pets on the couch, especially when the weather is cold and wet!

But if your pet’s hair is getting too much on the couch, armchair or any other soft furnishing, there is an easy way to remove the pet hair.
Simply dampen a rubber glove a little, pat it over the furniture and the pet hair sticks to the glove. The damp rubber material is like a magnet to hair!

If your iron is looking a little dirty, there is a super easy trick to get it sparkling clean in no time using salt.

Put down an old (but clean) bit of fabric on your ironing board, pour some salt on top and then iron the salt with the steam option off. The dirt on your iron will stick to the salt.

Sticky residues on glass and plastic can be a nightmare to remove but thanks to eucalyptus oil, it is a breeze.

Eucalyptus oil can be used straight to remove sticky residue on glass and plastic surfaces. Just dab on with a soft cloth and use some elbow grease to wipe away the stickyness.

Don’t panic, chocolate on your leather couch is not as bad as it may seem at first.

First of all, gently scrape off any excess chocolate using a blunt knife. Be careful not to scratch the leather though.

Then use our Oakwood Leather Care Deep Clean Soap and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Finally, sit back, relax and have some more chocolate!
